News.--The NPS has added a new Webcam to the array of them in Mt. Rainier NP. Besides the recent addition of the one at Camp Muir, they added one at Longmire, below, looking southwest at the highway from the Nisqually entrance with the visitor facilities on the left and the Longmire springs across the highway behind the trees on the right.
The NPS has four Webcams located in the Jackson Visitors Center at Paradise, which can be found at their Website and the latest images shown below with links to download the image file (jpg) to your computer. In addition to those Webcams, there is one in the Mountain Guide house which looks west at the Visitors Center and one in the NPS facilities west of the Visitors Center which looks to the southwest down the Nisqually valley.
Sometimes the images from the Webcams don't appear on the Web page here and the NPS Web page.
This is due to access problems with the weather, technical problems or periods of downtime to acquire parts or equipment.
Occasionally the Webcam images aren't current so you have to read the bottom of the image for
the date-time stamp, and read the notice with the Webcams on the NPS Web page.

The hikes are catagorized as:
Webcam 1, Webcam(s) located at Camp Muir;
Webcam 2, Webcam(s) located in Jackson Visitors Center at Paradise;
Webcam 3, Webcam(s) located at Paradise;
Webcam 4, Webcam(s) located at Longmire.
Map Information
Note about .-- The "information window" for each Webcam has the following information:
(6) name,
(2) description of location,
(3) latitude, longitude and elevation,
(4) camera view, direction and description,
(5) additional notes, and
(6) link to NP Webcam Web page.
This should provide sufficient information to locate the Webcams and with the other Websites,
linked in the list, and books should provide enough informaton to determine if you want to find it.
