MPG V2.5, November 2008

Advisories about Google map display and and about the Carbon River Road.

Guide

The trailheads are catagorized by the following:

   Visitor Area, are trailheads at visitors centers or locations with facilities;

   Roadside, are trailheads at paved roadside turnouts, vista, facilities, etc.;

   Offroad, are trailheads along roads or highways with (dirt, gravel) parking;

   Forest Service, are trailheads on USFS backcountry roads.

Please note that not all the trailheads catagorized as offroad have been visited to confirm if the parking is paved or gravel/dirt, but were determined through available Google Earth and other sources. The ones indicated as roadside are paved limited parking lots, some with limited visitor facilities such as restrooms and/or picnic areas.

Information

Note about .-- The "information window" for each trailhead has the following information:

    (1) Name,
    (2) Quadrant, the area in the NP along with the Paradise area,
    (3) Location by latitude, longitude and elevation,
    (4) USGS topographic map and link for maps,
    (5) Notes on the parking, and
    (6) Notes on the trailheads.

This should provide sufficient information to locate the trailheads and with the other Websites, linked in the list, and books should provide enough informaton to determine if you want to find it.
