Background

 March is the month to change from Pacific Standard Time (PST) to Pacific DaylIght (Savings) Time (PDT), which happens on March 9th at 2:00 am. The times in the table below reflects this change.

Below is a table for sunrise and sunset and moonrise and moonset for Paradise, Mt. Rainier NP. For the month of March 2014 and the azimuth of sunrise and sunset, the sunrises moves northward from 100 degrees to 83 degrees true north, which is east-southeast to east-northeast, and sunset moves northwward from 260 to 278 egrees true north, which is west-southwest to west-northwest, during the month, respectively.

The table of moonrise and moonset azimuth for Seattle is available for March 2014. The difference between Seattle (shown in table) and Mt. Rainier is relatively minor and can be adjusted in the field.

For what it's worth, knowing your exact location in the NP isn't that critical as you can use the calculation for Seattle, Washington to be sufficient close to make any minor adjustments in the field. Otherwise, Paradise is 46.77 ° north 121.73 ° west and the crest of Mt. Rainier is 46.85 ° north and 121.76 ° west for exact calculations.
